The HSSO has recently been working with Commonwealth Departments to support the delivery of their respective Workforce Plans. We welcome the recent launch by Minister Reynolds of the NDIS National Workforce Plan: 2021-2025, which outlines the Federal Government’s commitment to developing NDIS workforce requirements with stakeholders. The Plan references contributions expected from the HSSO’s employer-led approach to ensuring training systems are more responsive to sector workforce needs. The HSSO’s development of micro-credentials and updating nationally recognised training is also noted. We are pleased to be involved in supporting the skills needs and career pathways of the broader care and support sector in this way.
The HSSO team are currently compiling our national engagement of human service providers regarding workforce needs and challenges. Building on our industry-led approach, we are planning virtual and in-person roundtable discussions with employers in every State and Territory. We will also be meeting more broadly with peak bodies and training providers, offering insights gathered from employer engagement. This important stakeholder engagement will further guide our projects, resource development and opportunities for driving sustainable change. I encourage you to get in touch if you are interested in meeting with us, hosting forums or showcasing successful workforce initiatives or partnerships.
We are looking forward to working collaboratively with you as our team and projects grows. We are committed to realising our vision of ensuring the human services industry is equipped with the skilled, diverse and adaptable workforce it needs.
