There is a multitude of workforce development projects across Australia that focus on health, aged care, disability and more. The volume of activity creates the potential for duplication of effort. Anyone involved in workforce development planning will know how challenging it is to find good quality information to inform strategy.  The Workforce Development Initiatives portal is the solution.

Launch the portal

The Workforce Development Initiatives portal has been designed to collect valuable information about the sector. The portal is an insightful tool for the Human Services sector that will help inform planning.

The portal is an opportunity for the Human Services sector to work together and share best practice.  In 2021 we undertook a research exercise which we called Mapping the Sector. We looked across Australia at programs that existed at a national, state, and local level, regardless of ownership. This information is now available within the portal for employers, training providers and decision makers to access.

Explore and search

The portal is specific to all areas of human services and simplifies the research process.

You can browse or search by areas of interest, target groups, and location.

Use filters to refine your search to discover information on target groups.

Target groups include: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, females, older workers, people with a disability, young people and more.
