The NDIS Vocational Placement Project is a ‘Workability Qld’ Initiative. WorkAbility Qld is a consortium of three organisations who have worked together since 2015 on strategic workforce policy, planning and development across Queensland to help ensure the National Disability Insurance Scheme is a success.
Through the project TAFE Queensland will lead research into supporting quality vocational placements for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and the Disability Sector.
Under the initiative an Action Learning Research Project will be led that is aimed at gathering information to identify highlights and challenges for RTOs and the NDIS sector in supporting quality student vocational placements across vocational education settings.
The project focuses on identifying solutions to barriers and issues experienced by people undertaking vocational placements.
The initiative will document innovative ideas and produce a suite of resources that can be adopted by stakeholders (teachers, RTO Managers and sector organisations) to support quality vocational placements, successful practice and additionally, the workforce pipeline.
