The Monash University Project titled ‘Innovative workforce growth in thin markets: Piloting use of mixed digital and face-to-face workforce development to scale capacity building supports with NDIS participants in Tasmania’ was designed to extend and evaluate the Monash allied health fieldwork education program being delivered in collaboration with NDIS participants living in Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) in Victoria, into Tasmania.
The program commenced in the Hobart region with NDIS participants using both SDA and Lifestyle day programs.
Within the project, a mixed model of digital and face-to-face supervision from both Monash staff, Allied Health professionals and NDIS Support Coordinators based in Tasmania was be used.
In addition, there was the opportunity to test and develop application of the new Supervision and Delegation Framework for Allied Health Assistants and the Support Workforce in Disability developed through an NDIS Sector Development Grant.
