“Get SET, Skills, Employment, Training Program” aims is to tackle the low uptake of Aboriginal people into care work and especially at regional and remote locations across the Northern Territory.
Completion of this program with employers will build career pathways and support workers’ future opportunities within Disability, Aged, Community and or Health Industries work.
Get SET is a suite of resources available on the ISACNT webpage for anyone to freely download.
Resources include:
1. career maps, job summaries for Support Worker, Senior Support Worker and Team Leader roles within care sector
2. Guide for good practice to support Aboriginal people into the care sectors
3. Skills recognition kit to guide workers with existing skills
4. 13 curriculum modules that include activities to prepare people for the workplace
