The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Control Organisation (CCO) Management Capability Project

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Organisation (CCO) Management Capability Project is  a ‘Workability Qld’ Initiative.  WorkAbility Qld is a consortium of three organisations who have worked together since 2015 on strategic workforce policy, planning and development across Queensland to help ensure the National Disability Insurance Scheme is a success.

Growing Emerging New Talent

For the  Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander CCO Management Capability Project initiative, Strategix will deliver a Diploma of Leadership and Management course to twenty-five emerging leaders and managers from the following organisations:

  • Carbul Aboriginal Medical Services
  • Apunipima Cape York Health Council
  • Townsville Aboriginal Health Service
  • Central Qld Indigenous Development

Industry Demand
36,000 new workers are needed in the Queensland disability sector. Roles are wide ranging, from practice managers to team leaders and supports coordinators.

Project Aim
To build on emerging talent within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Organisations to enhance management capabilities.
