The Australian Government funded an independent Aged Care Workforce Taskforce to develop Australia’s first industry-led Aged Care Workforce Strategy (A Matter of Care: Australia’s Aged Care Workforce Strategy).
The Aged Care Workforce Strategy Taskforce developed the strategy with input from various stakeholders. They consulted with the general public, service providers, consumers, experts and people working in aged care.
This strategy sets out 14 actions for industry to change attitudes to caring, attract and retain a skilled aged care workforce, and ensure the workforce can meet aged care needs now and into the future.
The Aged Care Workforce Industry Council is leading the implementation of the strategy.
