The NDIS Workforce Research Project is a ‘Workability Qld’ Initiative. WorkAbility Qld is a consortium of three organisations who have worked together since 2015 on strategic workforce policy, planning and development across Queensland to help ensure the National Disability Insurance Scheme is a success.
This project dedicated research towards the impact of the NDIS on Workforce across Queensland.
This three year NDIS Workforce Research Project sought to understand the workforce patterns experienced by employers in the emerging NDIS workforce landscape.
Jobs Queensland, in partnership with WorkAbility Qld, commissioned research to investigate employer, employee and sole provider experiences in six NDIS roll-out sites across Queensland over the period to 2021: Townsville, Mackay, Ipswich, Toowoomba, Brisbane North and Brisbane South.
The ‘Strengthening Queensland’s NDIS Workforce Report’ (project output) was released in July 2021.
The report is an important tool for the disability services sector in highlighting the significant growth of the NDIS in addition to up skilling, training and employment opportunities presented in a series of Industry recommendations.
