Tasmanian Allied Health Disability Workforce Project

NDS in Tasmania received NDIS Sector Development Funding from the Tasmanian Department of Health and Human Services to develop and implement strategies to increase the supply, utilisation and capability of the allied health and support workforce in regional, rural and remote areas of the state.

Extending from this, it is hoped that people with disability and developmental delay with NDIS plans in regional, rural and remote Tasmania will have access to adequate and relevant therapy supports in order to achieve their goals.

The project had four parts:

  • Part 1: Define the existing workforce
  • Part 2: Forecast the supply mix of allied health professionals at full scheme
  • Part 3: Develop an allied health disability workforce strategy and action plan
  • Part 4: Implement priority strategies:

Key Points and Benefits
