Youth Care Connect

The Youth Care Connect (YCC) Program was developed by Regional Development Australia Yorke and Mid North and local employers to provide job seekers with the skills needed to gain employment in the aged & disability sectors, where there is huge demand for new workers.

YCC was delivered throughout the Yorke and Mid North to provide jobseekers with a diverse range of skill, experience, and support. The aim of this program was to help the region create a pool of work ready people to meet the current and future workforce demand, by providing participants with the minimum entry requirements to enter the sector.

The program included:

  1. Career Exploration – Participants received one-on-one support to explore training and employment opportunities in the care sector.
  2. Industry Awareness – Delivered in partnership with employers to promote employment opportunities and provide participants with an understanding of the relevant job roles and associated employment conditions
  3. Training Program –  The unique pre-employment program gave participants the opportunity to gain skills, knowledge and hands on experience in the care sectors.  Participants were provided with mandatory essential training required by Industry.
